Welcoming Back Dr. Hammad Adam: A Milestone for Colorectal Surgery in the Maldives

The Maldives Association of Surgeons (MAS) is delighted and proud to warmly welcome back Dr. Hammad Adam, the first Maldivian Consultant Subspecialist in Colorectal Surgery, to the surgical subspecialist community of the Maldives.

Dr. Hammad’s return represents a significant milestone in the continued evolution of surgical services in our country. The establishment and growth of colorectal surgery as a dedicated subspecialty marks an important step forward in providing comprehensive, specialized surgical care for patients with complex colorectal and gastrointestinal conditions.

His return is also a reflection of the remarkable progress of the Maldivian surgical profession. Over the years, our surgical community has continued to grow through the development of dedicated subspecialties and the return of Maldivian surgeons with advanced specialist training and expertise from abroad. These achievements are helping to build a stronger, more comprehensive, and increasingly self-sufficient surgical service for our nation.
