Maldives Association of Surgeons Signs MOU with Dhaaris TV to Contribute to “Sihhathu” Health Program
The Maldives Association of Surgeons (MAS) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dhaaris TV to collaborate on the channel’s weekly health program, “Sihhathu.”
The signing ceremony was held on 11th February 2026 at Dharumavantha Hospital, attended by members of the MAS Executive Committee and the administrative team of Dhaaris TV.
On behalf of the Maldives Association of Surgeons, the President, Dr. Abdulla Ubaid, signed the MOU, marking an important step toward strengthening public health education through national media.
Enhancing Public Awareness Through Specialist Contributions
With this collaboration, specialists and sub-specialists from the Maldives Association of Surgeons will actively participate in the Dhaaris TV Sihhathu program, sharing expert knowledge on a wide range of surgical and health-related topics.
As part of this initiative, MAS and Dhaaris TV plan to produce a special four-episode series for the upcoming month of Ramadan. The series will focus on Fasting and Surgical Conditions, addressing key concerns relevant to the Maldivian population.
The planned episodes include:
- Neurosurgical Conditions and Fasting
- Cancer and Fasting
- Fasting and Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery
- Fasting and Recovery from Surgical Conditions
These episodes aim to provide clear, evidence-based guidance to patients and families, helping them make informed decisions during Ramadan while managing surgical conditions.
