Date: June 12-14, 2025
Location: Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH)
The Maldives Association of Surgeons (MAS) extends warm congratulations to all MAS members who participated in the Surgical Multispecialty Outreach Program held at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH) from 12th to 14th June 2025.
The outreach program was organised by the Department of Surgery at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in collaboration with the KRH surgical team and the Ministry of Health (MOH). Though not conducted under the formal umbrella of MAS, the program was led and delivered by a dedicated team of surgeons who are all proud members of MAS.

Over the course of three days, the outreach program achieved:
16 surgical procedures across general surgery, surgical oncology, urology, plastic surgery, and pain management, including advanced minimally invasive interventions.
285 outpatient consultations were offered to patients in the northern region.
Hands-on training and knowledge-sharing sessions are provided for KRH doctors and nurses to strengthen surgical practice and sustainability.

The initiative reflects the commitment of individual MAS members to advancing surgical care across the Maldives and bridging gaps in regional access to subspecialty services. The collaborative spirit between central and regional teams was a highlight of the outreach, reaffirming the strength of partnerships in delivering quality surgical care nationwide.
MAS takes pride in the achievements of its members and commends their voluntary contributions toward equitable surgical service delivery.
